Lion’s Low Vision Center

The Lions’ Low Vision Center at Quinnipiac therapeutic and occupational efforts to individuals with sight loss that can’t be corrected by glasses, contacts or surgery.

Local doctors recommend the center to patients that may benefit from the services.

Occupational therapists evaluate each client, working with them to identify opportunities for improvement in the patients’ routines. Tools vary from magnification items to talking objects, such as clocks and watches. Strong lighting fixtures are frequently sent home with patients.

The center provides support services to assist older adults in feeling more connected through services provided by the social work department.

In addition, the center provides a wonderful learning opportunity for occupational therapy and social work students to assist clients and also learn from working with the clients.

This program is in partnership with the Lions’ Club, which provides funding for all objects used in the center.
